Millwork & Finish Carpentry

An in-house millwork shop, drawing the spec we build.

Structa runs its own millwork shop in Los Angeles. Cabinetry, paneling, doors, walk-in closets, libraries, and specialty joinery for luxury homes in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and across the LA area - all drawn, fabricated, and installed by the same team that signs the contract.

Millwork is where a luxury home shows itself. The reveal lines on a kitchen run. The grain match on a paneled library. The closing weight of a door. These are the details that take a beautiful set of drawings and turn them into a home that feels considered, in every room.

Most contractors sub the millwork out. We don't. We run a shop in Los Angeles staffed by carpenters we've grown in-house, drawing to the architect's spec and fabricating against shop drawings produced by our own draftsmen. The team that draws it builds it - and the team that builds it installs it. Design intent doesn't get translated through three vendors before it lands on site.

What's included

The full scope of the work.

Custom cabinetry

Kitchens, baths, libraries, butler's pantries, walk-in closets, custom built-ins for any room.

Wood, metal-clad, painted, and book-matched veneer paneling for primary rooms, libraries, and entries.

Doors

Solid-core interior doors, panel doors, hidden doors, mirror doors, full-height pivot entries.

Specialty joinery

Bar fronts, wine room shelving, reception millwork, custom desks, headboard walls.

Shop drawings

Detailed drawing package produced before fabrication, reviewed and signed off by the architect and homeowner.

On-site finish carpentry

Crown, base, casings, wainscoting, ceiling detail. Finish-level work installed by the same crew that built the cabinetry.

How we deliver

Four phases. One team.

  1. 01

    Spec review

We meet with the architect and designer, walk the spec, identify long-lead materials, and produce a millwork schedule against the build.

  2. 02

    Shop drawings

Detail-level drawings of every assembly produced by our draftsmen. Reviewed and approved by the design team before fabrication.

  3. 03

    Fabrication

Built in our LA shop by the team that drew it. Quality reviewed against the shop drawings before delivery.

  4. 04

    On-site install

Installed by the same crew that fabricated it, coordinated against the rest of the build by the project lead.

Why Structa

Three reasons design teams and homeowners come to us for millwork & finish carpentry.

01

The team that draws it builds it.

Our draftsmen and our shop carpenters work in the same building. Design intent doesn't get lost in translation between vendor, fabricator, and installer.

02

Spec-level fidelity.

Architects can specify reveal lines, hardware, grain match, edge profiles - and trust that what gets installed matches what was approved.

03

Schedule and accountability.

Millwork is one of the trades most likely to slip and most likely to ruin a closeout when it does. Holding it in-house means the same project lead owns it.

Common questions

Asked and answered.

Where is your millwork shop?

We operate our own millwork shop in the Los Angeles area, staffed by in-house carpenters and managed alongside the build team.

Do you take millwork-only projects?

Yes. We take standalone millwork commissions for projects we aren't building, when the design team and the install conditions on site work for our team.

Who produces the shop drawings?

Our own draftsmen produce the shop-drawing package. The architect and homeowner review and sign off before fabrication begins.

What materials do you work in?

Solid wood, veneer (rift, quarter-sawn, book-matched), painted MDF, lacquer, metal cladding, and specialty finishes specified by the design team. Long-lead and unusual materials are sourced against the build schedule.

Do you handle finish carpentry too?

Yes - crown, base, casings, wainscoting, and ceiling detail are part of our scope, installed by the same crew that built the cabinetry.
